canon d30 body only pc

Does anyone know about the Canon d30 body only that is a plastic body? sells on different web sites for as little as $309.00 for body only, no battery or battery charger (I already
have the rebel so I don't need that anyway). Is eveything else the same as the $1,000.00 body except plastic?

The main difference between a Canon camera that sells at one store for $309 and another store for $1000 is that one is a scam and one is not.

If a deal looks too good to be true then it usually is.

Canon does not make discounted plastic versions of their cameras.

You sound like you are aware that scam sites selling the "body only" for a discount are actually planning to overcharge you for the battery, charger, and other standard accessories. Do you think you're the first person that's decided that you just don't need those accessories anyway? First they'll pressure you to buy the accessories, and you'll say no. Then they'll get rude and tell you that you don't know what you're talking about. Then when you stick to your guns and tell them you just want the body only, they'll say it's backordered. They might charge your credit card anyway, but you WON'T get the camera at that price.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's better to hear it here before you get scammed. Stick with a reputable dealer like B&H (bhphotovideo.com) or Adorama.

And be careful when doing your research. I think the camera you are looking at is the 30D, released last year. The Canon D30 was released 7 years ago.

D30 is an old, long discontinued EOS camera. It is easily confused with the current 30D. The D30 was Canon's first successful consumer DSLR, introduced in late 2000 with a 3.25mp sensor. It was replaced in 2002 by the 6mp D60. After that Canon changed their naming convention, replacing the D60 with the 10D (2003), 20D (2004), and 30D(2006). It has a high quality plastic shell over a stainless steel chassis. It was a ground breaking camera, but it's performance is well short of the current state of the art.

The D30 uses the same BP511/512 battery and charger of the original Digital Rebel (300D), but if you have the more recent Rebel XT or XTi these use a different non-compatible battery.

go to www.resellerratings.com to make sure the company you are considering buying from is legite. There are some bogus review sites out there that cater to the scamming companies ... but resellerratings is for real.

Also consider buying from www.OneCall.com. They rate well, have good prices, and I've personally met the owner ... he is a nice, honest business man who has been doing business in Spokane, WA for YEARS.
