Amateur Photographer wonderin' about SLR's.... I'm looking to buy a camera of some sort that's not a slim digi-cam, but not one that takes film. I am interested in setting up my own room for photo shoots of family and friends. I can purchase and craft sets easily, but I don't know what camera to buy! I don't have very much money to spend, so I will be buying on the secondhand market. I am looking for a camera that has stellar quality with the ease of being able to take a card or plug it into your computer. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Tessa; I suggest that you go to a camera shop and handle many cameras in your price range. Get the feel of all of them. Each camera model is different. Some will tell you that one make and model is a fantastic camera. If you purchase one, you may find that the control placement is completely wrong for you. Handle them your self. Ask the salesman questions. When you find one in your price range that feels right for you, you have found your camera.

Tessa, I have used ,still own and recommend the Nikon D70. The prices are very resonable now on ebay. I myself have had great success there. see my gallery and others here on BP as the D70 is a very popular camera. and easy to handle with a comfortable fit to a females hand as well.
