Metering probs L358C

Can anyone tell me why, when I put my perfectly working, albeit older than dirt, Vivitar 2800 via X sync chord into my Sekonic L358C meter why when I test the flash the meter won't read? Mark? Alan? Anybody?

  Hi Christopher,
Since I almost always use my Sekonic when I meter for a film camera outdoors it is usually not set to strobe. So I usually forget to change it back to strobe when I do use it in the studio. I don’t suppose that is the problem, but at least it would fit the conditions.
Thanks, John Siskin

Your guess is as good as mine. Not enough information given.
This is the boss meter therefore somewhat complex.
Meter working with other flash units?
Meter works when flash is manually triggered?
Meter works OK when used as light meter for continuous light?

My first guess is pilot error (check the manual).
My second guess is battery status.
My third guess is dip switch setting.
My fourth guess is a actual malfunction.

Tell us more!
