Photography Question

Wide screen monitor

My wife has just purchased a wide screen monitor and all her photo images now appear very distorted -stretched widthwise! The wide screen is great for spread sheets but is there anything that can be done to make normal images look correct?
Would appreciate any responses1

go to start> control panel> display>settings> and there it will show screen resolution. I have a wide monitor and keep my resolution at 1360-768. If you slide it down to 1280-768, the dimensions of the image will change taking away the "wonky" effect. When I put mine at a lower resolution, the whole image looks distorted. I know what you are talking about and hope this helps.
Try different settings and see what works best for you. The "settings" is a tab on your display box.

Thank you Mary; we appreciate you responding to our problem query. After much playing around with settings we did arrive at an acceptable solution and Elizabeth is happy! Ergo, I am happy and she no longer covets my non-wide screen LCD monitor!

Thanks again.

Pete
