Sunrise....Sunset colors

Hi every one
I had a question that I hope someone has sometime to answer,
Is there any way to predict the days in which the sky would show beautiful colors at sunrise or sunset? I guess there might be a way using weather forecast reports to expect it… don't really know.
I would really appreciate the help if possible.
Thnx every one.

I wish there was, but the only thing I can tell you is if sunrise was good, then the sunset might be also good on the same day. I don't know why, but assume it's because the weather pattern is similar. I live right on a lake and shoot a lot of sunrise/sunsets but until I actually see it starting to get some color I just stay in the house and keep an eye on it. If anybody knows the answer, I'd sure like to know too.

I don't know how you can tell either, though in the desert you are hardly ever disappointed.
here are two from the same sunset over the Mojavi desert.
Just keep shooting,
Debby

You can get a good idea a few hours before by cloud patterns. If you have puffy clouds near you, but way, way off to the horizon there's overcast looking clouds, then by the time the sun goes down it's going to act as a screen and you won't get the pinks, oranges, reds, and purples shining on the clouds near you.
A spring or summer rain that stops by 7:00 but also has the sun come out usually makes a good one. The rain clears the air of haze, the clouds are still there by sunset to give the colored light something to shine on.
Otherwise, predicting days ahead you'll have to look for good weather forecast.
