Photography Question

Lori McCoy

blurry photo

I recently purchased a tamron 2.8 28-75 lens. When I have it set at 2.8 my pictures are blurry unless I am very very close to the subject ... about 2 feet. Can someone please explain why and what I can do to fix this. Thank you!

At 2.8 your camera will have a narrow depth of field. Perhaps you can create an isolated focus, and maybe you need to try changing you focus.

Thank you for your response... but what exactly do you mean by isolated focus or changing my focus? Are you meaning center weight, etc.?

Hi Lori,

it sounds as if the AF (autofocus) on your tamron 2.8 28-75 doesn't work.
If you "recently puchased" it, you may want to invoke the warranty clause on that lens.

Good luck.

I meant maybe you can find a small area (in distance from your camera) which would be in focus (isolated focus).

As far as changing your focus, well, you have to understand that lenses can't focus on close and far things at once. You have to focus for a different depth.
