From Jim Miotke, as posted in another Forum thread here recently:

"Hello friends,
The "Editor's Picks" are simply recently uploaded photos that Team BetterPhoto has found interesting, eye-catching or beautiful.

In the past, if you wanted to find new photos for discussion, you might go to "New Arrivals". The problem with that, though, is that this group is global and unedited. It's everything being uploaded to BP. So you often see duplicate photos or an entire page of one subject, for example.

The "Editor's Picks" will give you a selection of interesting photos upon which you can comment.

We still have the "New Arrivals" and "Recent Contest Entries" categories, for those of you who want to see that global set of images. But for those of you who would like to just see the unique photos that catch our eye, the "Editor's Picks" will be just the ticket.

Enjoy!"

Just wondering if Editors picks are a prelude to being a finalist? Or are they just eye catching photos?

Just eye catching photos. That's not saying they won't be a finalist, but one does not equate to the other. The only similarity is the Editor's Picks are chosen from the contest entries.

Are they picked on a daily basis or is it just a random type thing?

"That's not saying they won't be a finalist,..."

And it's not saying that it will be a finalist. A topic of future friction to some if you don't keep that in mind.

I was wondering if the reason you see certain shots repeated over and over in editor's picks is because more than one editor is picking the same photo?

This is just a suggestion, but I wonder if you would consider setting up Editors First Picks in pages rather than just a random button? I love going through EFP, but when I sit and hit reload over and over again, I tend to see a lot of the same ones over and over again. I feel like I'm missing out on seeing a lot of interesting and great pictures with the way it is currently set up...

  Suzanne, I agree.
Ever since I discovered the EFP section, I love sitting there and check out all the interesting and beautiful photos that have been picked by the editors. However, it does gets a little tiring hitting that reload button, instead of going through pages.

That would be great if they could incorporate pages in that section, like the rest of the site is setup.

Did everyone see that the Editor's Picks are now updated on everyone's gallery---even back dated?

I really enjoy looking through the Editor's Picks to see what is new and eye-catching, and always end up commenting on many! However, like everyone is saying, when I hit reload I often get some of the same ones over and over again. That just keeps me from seeing others that I would love to see and possibly comment on, so I, too, would love to see them as pages. Then whenever I have a bit of time, I can go through several pages and remember where I stopped and later go back and pick up where I left off!
