Background for Pet Photos

I have been approached to do some pet photography. This would involve setting up at the groomer's location and photographing the dogs just after they have been groomed. My question is this...what would be a good durable background to use? I need something fairly static as I may have to edit out the groomer's hand holding onto some of the dogs and I will have to do the editing pretty quickly to have the image ready for mommy or daddy to view and purchase when they pick up their pet. My main concern is something the first 3 dogs won't destroy. Any suggestions?

Try a roll of textured vinyl fabric. The kind used by upholstery shops.
