Corel PSP is kind of like Photoshop Elements. Photoshop CS, though, is much more advanced, and much more expensive. I personally use Helicon Filter for my work, and that costs $60 plus it gives free updates. Helicon is a different setup from PSP and Photoshop, though. I suggest checking out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_raster_graphics_editors

You can also try the fully functional PhotoLine32 (http://www.pl32.com/) for FREE. It's €59 shareware if you decide to use it. And if you're on a Mac, you're priviliged to use the Swiss army knife of editors: GraphicConverter – FREE trial. Have fun!

Oh, yeah. Helicon Filter does not run natively on Mac. The thing about pl32 is that although the program will run after 30 days, it is not legal.
