B&W Pictures

something I havent figured out yet is when is it okay to make your pictures and B&W and leave part of it in color. what part should be in color the main focal point? since that is where your attention is drawn first. ????

Whatever part of the photo that will be in color will atuomatically be your focal point. That is usually the eyes or a flower or bouquet that your subject is holding. If this is something you want to offer to a client you have shot, then be sure to make it part of the overall package. Just one or two done like that. If you are doing this technique just to please yourself, then do as many as you like! This was very popular, but is not so much anymore. But, that doesn't mean that there aren't folks who like the look and want it. It is a fun technique to learn anyway.

I saw a photograph done like that once, an old man in front of an old time gas station, only the gas pump was in color and it was desaturated some. It was very cool.
