Reputable Website? Fellow photographer friend just let me know about expresscameras.com. Says someone she knows ordered from them and had no complaints. Their deals seem almost too good to be true--which makes me nervous. But of course I am looking for the best deal! Anyone know anything about them? Have only done big purchases with B&H and Adorama but would love to grab a good deal. Thanks...

OK--it's me. Just after posting my question about expresscameras.com I read one posted just a day or two ago asking about the exact same site. My gut told me it was too good to be true. No need to respond here--as I have read previous responses and appreciate the feedback.

I know you said there was not need to respond, but I feel compelled to do so. I have dealt with expresscamera.com twice: the first time and the last time. NEVER AGAIN. They play a game of smoke and mirrors when offerring their deals and my experience was that what I thought I was getting was not what I actually received. My order was incomplete when it was delivered, and when I called to inquire about it, it was like "who was I to question such a thing?" The great prices are lost in the extremely poor customer service, bait and switch practices, rude and condescending attitudes, etc. You can't save enough money to make it worthwhile. For my money, when buying on line B&H Photovideo in NY is my choice hands down.

Jack--sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. I know how crazy that can make a person! I am very relieved I didn't make a mistake. I didn't have a good feeling about it so I'm not sure I would have gone for it anyway. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks Henry for that website address. Although my mind is pretty much made up when it comes to photo and video equipment, that site is perfect for doing some research prior to making any online purchase. At least it can take a good deal of the "roll of the dice" feeling out of the equation. Keep up the excellent work.
