  welcome lisa,
yeah the minolta 5d and 7d.the htsi-plus has the maxxum a-type mount, also supported by the new sony alpha which bought out minolta.also controls the rights to the in camera anti-shake function.
save that film camera as a backup if you decide to move on.i always thought the off camera flash to be a unique option.
when I got mine,htsi-plus,the plastic mount, which I wasn't aware of,worried me.but through diligence and tlc,is in the same condition as the day I got it.
i have only used the oil from the sides of my nose to smear on the plastic mount.
hope it wasn't too much info, sam

Minolta has dropped out of the camera market and sold their mount, etc to Sony. The Sony Alpha is a 10 megapixel SLR which uses Minolta Maxxum mount lenses.
