Photography Question

Annette Leibovitz

Selling CD images after event

I photograph 2-4 parties a month. I have very low enlargement fees as well as reasonable fees to shoot the 3-5 hour events. More families want pictures on a CD. I see more photographers in my area are selling these but their party event price is double mine! Others sell the CD for $200-$300. Then I am not sure what to put on the CD? The cropped 4x6 pictures? If someone wants an enlargement I go back to the original picture, level it, crop it to the right size, and then send to professional lab. My fear is that these pictures will not be processed correctly and they will be shown as my work? Does this make sense? What have others done in this digital world???

Who Me?
always make your price with the DVD included, but tell them that the DVD is a gift or they will try to trade things out or get discounts for not wanting the DVD.

Annette, I agree with you about the images being produced substandard and being presented as my work. I provide a DVD and tell the customer, "This is for viewing on your computer," and use low resolution for the photos.
