comment on BetterPhoto I am not really sure where the best place to do this is but I wanted to thank BetterPhoto and the talented photographers on this site for being so helpful and kind! I was involved with another photo site and became very discouraged. The "other site" has people rating your pics and their supposed to add a CC-but I have only recieved help on 2 photos! Other than that I have had comments such as "This doesn't work for me. You've ruined the original photo." and the like, with no help on how to fix anything! People have been downright mean. I have to thank all of you for truly being kind and HELPFUL!!! I have since pulled pics from this site. Thank you BetterPhoto!!! KIMI

I can relate! I remember when I first started on some other sites they would just rip your head off, it was awful. Then I found BP and am still here several years later. Great people on this site for the most part. We do have our little smart mouths, but even they are good for a laugh most of the time.

Most people don't seem to understand CC means "constructive critique." They need to sit back and realize "this doesn't work for me" is in no way constructive or helpful. I personally don't think those kind of people are wanting to help. They just need to cut someone else down to make themselves feel good, and have you noticed...they usually can't take a pic with both hands! There are a few of them lurking around here as well, but this is a nice friendly site for the most part or I wouldn't be hanging around here several years later either. I'm glad you're enjoying BP. It has always been the only contest site I enjoy.

I haven't been here for years, but I have gotten so much help thanks everyone. I have learned to take what people say good or bad not to heart. Then I disside myself what I'm going to do with the info. You can tell who is real trying to help you or not. I love it here. I can't wait to learn more and more from you all. And remember even if you are a beginner you can always give your thoughts. Not everyone see the same thing when looking at pictures.

No, I am not concerned about a slander suit, I simply don't feel the need to call attention to a site I feel is worthless. I don't have a problem with CC, rather that is the reason I joined sites like this because I am trying to learn. However, I really don't think much is learned from people bashing others efforts in an attempt to win a contest! And, yes, I am aware that there are a few of those lurking here...
