I think people are starting to look forward to the thread more than the finalist announcement LOL. I'm sure John will start it soon. When I began the "Counting Down" thread I began around the 15th because that's when the finalists used to be announced and it gave everyone plenty of time to play along. I don't know for sure when John will start his thread. Keep looking!

Too true--I do look forward to anything "community" at this site. It's the first time I've read comments and "hung out" with people who kinda see the world like I do. It's FUN!! Anyway, do you get an email if you're a finalist or what?

Hello, Victoria! It's great to see your enthusiasm! As Sharon pointed out, I'll get the thread going on the 15th. It really is a lot of fun, and every month I look forward to seeing all the wonderful entries! As for the finalist's announcements, you do get an e-mail from BetterPhoto saying you're a finalist. It's a pretty exciting thing (which I've only experienced twice since I joined!). They come out right at about the same time as the updated contest web page, so it's quite early in the announcement process. I look forward to seeing you later this week!
