Printers for Professional Photo Digital Lab.

What kind of printers do I need to start a professional photo digital lab? I want to sell my own photos and to be printed by myself. Also I would like to open a small studio so I need to develop customers photos too. Plz I need help in this. I wanna start a photography business. I'm a freelance photographer for 5 years now with a good portfolio, so I need to do something with my photos and experience. I'm also thinking of making postcards and calendars, yet I have no idea about what kind of papers or ink to use. For me quality and high resolution in printing is important. That's why I'm lookin for professional printers and at the same time good enough to start with. If anybody has an idea of this, plz dont hesitate in replying, thanx :)

  Hoda,
Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to use a service? Quite frankly maintaining a high-quality printer and servicing it is a job onto itself. I don't even own a printer...I send everything to a service. It's part of what I teach in my From Monitor to Print course. I also have recently blogged about just that here:

Let someone else handle the headache of calibration, maintaining supplies and worrying about paper and such. Those machines cost tens of thousands, and my prints come off them at a few dollars each...
