Photoshop Help

Hi everybody!
I'm looking for a quick answer. I want to learn how to take a B/W photo and add a spot of color to the image. Example would be a shot of a person holding a rose and the image is B/W but the rose is red. What is that called and how to do that in PS cs?
Thanks in advance...
Yours in the hobby...
Geoff

Hi Geoffrey, it's called Selective coloring. I don't have the CS version of photoshop, so I'm not sure if it's different. You could search BP or Google for a tutorial for it. But I normally make a duplicate layer of the photo, convert it to B&W, and then using the history brush, color back in the object. It's timely but that's the only way I know how to do it. If someone knows a quicker way, I'm all ears!!

Geoffrey Hello. If you are starting with a B&W photo and want to colorize parts of it... the easyist way I know in PS CS2 is to make a selection of the area with the LASSO tool. Mind you, using a graphics tablet like a Wacom Grapher 4 with the pen is the most precise way to make a selection. once you have the area you want to colorize. go to the top, IMAGE> Adjustments> Hue & Saturation.. then check the colorize box and slide the slids to the desierd color.. clikc OK and that area will be the way you want it. I have a photo on my galley that was done the way Teresa S said.. here is the link

Good luck Geoffrey!
