Do I crop this tighter?

I think it if was cropped a little (like a portrait), the emphasis would be more on the butterflies. But that's just my preference. Nice shot either way!

I like the picture the way it is. You can alway crop it closer and save as and you will have them both. I like haveing the green behind it. Just my thoughts

Hi! The subject is very interesting--it's two butterflies, right, not a reflection? Great detail and color. I definitely would crop it tighter in portrait orientation. You'd still see the green background, but the subject would fill the frame more.

Thanks Teresa - then another question - is this entered in animals, nature/landscape ?

I would think Nature would fit it best (rather than animals). =)

Looks great! Really an amazing capture--two butterflies "getting lucky" :D I don't think I've ever seen that! Usually butterflies and insects are entered into the details and macro category, since they're close-ups. But you could certainly try nature. I think you could even enter it into two categories (not on the same day tho)-you probably want to double check the rules for that, though.

Thanks Girls - I'll also think about a double entry - sometimes I think the South African entries either aren't seen, or are missed because of time differences!
