Photography Question

Hi There,

I messed this shot up.
I wanted to take the snap from this angle and the sun was on the other side. How could I have made a better snap of this?
Ps: any setting tips ?

Thanks

Vinod

  Hi Vinod,

What do you mean? Do you mean "what could I have done" to make a better snap, or do you mean "what can I do NOW" to make this snap better?

"Ps" do you mean "photoshop" or "post script"?
"Exposure time 1/6405s". It was not that fast. Perhaps you mean 1/645s?

So first of all, you should put the subjects lower in the frame by the rule of thirds. Second, you could get closer and zoom out less in order to effectively use flash. Then, use flash, use the widest possible aperture, and the fastest shutter where the subjects are still lit up enough.
------
But now, with the shot you have, I would crop out the bottom and darken the highlights and brighten the shadows a little. And sharpen it a little.

very close to a silhouette, you should have been on the other side and shot a few hours earlier.

That's a very good point, but perhaps the scenery on the other side was bad?

with the right aperture there would be no scenery.and no..
I believe it is a photojournalitic photo to depict..lack of expierence was the result of the shot.
maybe the arab community is asking us to project them in a more docile or domestic life?a propaganda photo to project afghan lifestyle that we as americans are decimating..
3 hours earlier you could have used fill flash.
pick you up at 7 ariel?

  Arab community?
I thought it was just one person?
Back lit, increase your exposure. That was a good time to use exposure compensation since you had your camera on auto.
When things are back lit, your camera sees all the bright areas so the yak comes out dark.
