Photography Question

buying new camera

I currently have an Olympus Camedia C-5000, with 5 megapixel. I'm sure I am not using all the options possible. I want to buy another digital that will take multiple shots within seconds. What do I look for? Where do I look to find the current photography jargon terminology?

  Hi Angie,
You came to the right place for photography jargon but I don't really know what you want besides the ability to shoot multiple frames per second. Are you wanting to get into Digital prosumer SLR's or stick with a fixed lens point & shoot ?
If you are wanting a bridge between there are fixed lens SLR's as well. I used to own a Fuji S602 that was a good auto shooting camera with 3 frames per second in continuous mode and could be selected for manual shooting as well. It took very good macro shots. I was reading about a newer Fuji Finepix S7000 that takes 5 frames per second (6.3 megapixel) see link:

The reviews are very favorable.
I suggest you read some of the discussions here and you can always enter something specific in the search window and see what comes up. And there are many courses offered here at Better Photo as well that can get you up to speed with everything from learning how to use a specific camera, to composing a photo, learning proper exposure, several photoshop courses, or even dressing up as a tree to get good wildlife photos courses.
Do some searches on the internet and read reviews on different camera's that interest you. Check this course:

Hope this helps Angie - Happy New Year

The Nikon D200 will do multiple exposures in camera. All you have to do is choose multiple exposure in the menu and select how many shots you want to take. The camera does the rest for you.

My S5200 does rapid fire shots, but if you already have a 5MP camera, you'll probably want to move up to an SLR. If not, perhaps the Sony H5 is a good upgrade.

  Hi Angie,

you already own what you want. According to your C-5000 does 1.7 fps, and has a buffer for up to 5 images.
So keep your money in your pocket for now, and experiment with the Continuous Drive setting of your Olympus.

Have fun.
