Re-submitting contest entries I would be fascinated to hear how often BP members resubmit images into contests. I have read that there are around 20,000 plus entries each month and that seems like a giant lottery to me so do folk just continue to resubmit each month in the hope that the image catches the judges eye? Many of us resubmit regularly. And some of us get together and do our resubmits all at once in the month of February. So if you have some, join in! I've had quite a few finalists that were resubmits, and one person had a grand prize that was a third time entry. So you never know.

I'm a resub'r, too, and definitely believe in resub'ing an overlooked image that I'm particularly proud of, or feel really good about. It is unavoidable that with sometimes 27,000 entries in a month, worthy images will be missed or overlooked in the crowd. While I've only won Finalists thus far on BP, several of them got that badge as a re-entry. (In fact, being a bit of a BP geek, I can tell you from my notes that 8 of my 27 Finalists won on a later re-entry.) Sometimes I will use the re-entry to try another category, particularly if I was torn between 2 categories for the first-time entry. I remember Carolyn's suggestion from last winter, when several folks did their resubs together. But I'd only been shooting about 4 months then, so I didn't think I had much to consider resubmitting back then. This year, I opted to take a general break from shooting, in early October, and as I depleted my supply of "new" images to enter, I decided to use November as a month of all resubmits. 29 entries that month, all previously entered, one or two with minor reworking/editing. Still waiting to see how I did, once the Finalists announcement comes out any day now...!
