Tripod and Long Telephoto Lens I have recently purchased a Canon 30D and a Sigma 50-500mm Lens. I have inheritied a used, but in perfect condition a Gitzo 1575M Off Center Ball Head. Now I need a tripd for all this gear. The lens, camera, battery grip and ball head weight in at about 8-9 lbs. I am looking at some Tripods that can handle 13lbs. Should I go for more weight capacity? I have my eye on the Gitzo 2220 because of the versatality in being able to invert the center column for macro work. I also have a Sigma 105mm macro lens. The 2220 will be able to handle the macro lens with no problem and has some great features for macro work (I think) I worry it might be on the low side for the Telephoto Lens. It will hold 13 lbs and, again, I only really need 9 lbs, but anybody have any advice one way or the other. Thanks in advance......

I purchase almost all my equipment online these days from sellers I've gotten to trust. I use Amvona.com for tripods and heads on ebay. They have Buy It Now prices that are really high, but you can bid and get quite a good deal. The equipment itself is excellent, but I am not sure many people know the Dynatran name. I got my tripod from them and it is very sturdy, has a reversible center column with mounts at either end -- so you don't even have to reverse it if you keep two heads on that have the same quick release plate type. Check out the 828 with the pistol-grip ball head...you can get them for under $70. Those pistol grip ball heads easily hold my Sigma SD10 and heavy lenses. I have three of those pistol grips and use one on each end of my reversible column, as well as having one on my monopod. I can easily move my camera from one to the other. Stay away from Dreammaker on ebay...the stuff looks good, but he sells junk, and he's difficult to deal with.
