Nikkor 60mm Micro Lense O.K. I have been searching and searching for a good macro lense for about $300 or so. I stopped in to Wolf Camera and out of impulse, I purchase the Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 Micro Lense for about $400. Does anyone have any feedback on this lense? Was this a good or bad buy? That you for all input- it is MUCH apprectiated. Oh, by the way I would be using the lense for flora etc- probably no animals. Thanks!!! Meagan

Sounds like a fair deal. I doubt that Nikon would make a cheap consumer level macro, because there wouldn't be that much demand for it. The resolving power and lack of distortion will serve your needs well. Use it as you would a 50-mm in non-macro situations as well.

Very nice lens. Did you get the $40 Nikon mail-in rebate (through 12/31/01) on this lens?

Yep, I got the $40 rebate which helps a little bit with the price. I would like to go with something like th 110mm but that was over $700. So I think I am going to go ahead and keep this lens unless someone posts something really negative about it. Thanks!
