Easy infared with the D-200?

I am wondering if it is possible to shoot or get the look of infared easily with the D-200? Either filters or using photoshop CS2. Any thoughts..? I have seen some discussions on infared, but want to see what others have tried and had some success with. Thanx

It's easy, but to make the effect really stand out, you need a lot of chlorophyll-containing foliage in the scene. A deep blue sky also helps.

Open your image and then got to File>Image>Adjustments>Channel Mixer.

When the window opens, you'll see a radio box in the lower left corner. Click on Monochrome. This will remove color.

Then, move the Green Slider all the way to the right and the Blue Slider all the way to the left. You may have to play around a little to get the effect you like. Generally, you don't have to do anything with the Red Slider - but, try it and see if you like it.

Remember, it's a simulation of infrared, but a pretty good one. Much cheaper than permanently modifying your camera.

I bought a Hoya IR-72 filter for my Canon Rebel XT at the recommendation of a fellow BP member. It is simple and fun!
