Chris, I have formatted my card , I even set the camera back to its defult settings , and started every thing out from scratch, reset it the way I need it, I have 3 batteries and 3 cards( as back up) but get the same results with any of them, plus I keep my camera in a place where the tempature is relatively the same at all times ( I'm pretty anal about my camera) its only a year old.and never seen a rain drop. (LOL) I know the OCD thing is loud & clear but I just cant figure out whats going on>

It sounds like my friends Rebel 300D that went bad.

Everytime she turned it on it would say busy.... then never do anything even if you play with all the buttons.

We even tried installing a new firmware. What ended up happening was we had to send it back to Canon or a Canon authorized Repairer to fully restore the firmware on the camera. They had said that we had subjected it to static electricity. Which it could have been since we all generate it but I think that was a bull answer.

I would try a firmware update and see if that fixes it. If so, then great, if not get it back to a canon repair shop.

Best of luck,

Flipper
