Collage of an 80th birthday

I am doing my grandmother-in-laws 80th birthday and I plan to make her a collage of it as a gift. I really want to capture the moment because the whole family will be there(for once) and it means a lot to her. Any ideas that would be just 'perfect' to catch this moment? All replys mean a lot and I really appreciate it. Thanks

If you have enough time and want to MAKE HER DAY, why not get a shot ahead of time of each individual family and her grandkids....and then get one of her. Put the one of her in the middle and then all her children around in a collage and get if framed. This you then present to her at the party and then from the photos you take at the party make her an album. Don't forget to take all the family members with her...to include any GENERATION photos.
Just my two cents....I have done this and it is better then buying them the HOPE DIAMOND!

Debbie is right, Jennifer. You may also want to consider composing all those photos into a photo mosaic.
There are a number of applications that may be of assistance here:

Have fun doing the shoot.

That is so sweet that an 80 year old woman has fond the courage to go to college.
Bless her heart!!

:) Jennifer, the suggestion from Debbie is a good one - also try to get some close ups/details - even tho old folk are not too wild about their blemishes being recorded, its all part of their history. i.e. old hands clasped round young ones, gnarled fingers - black/white and sepia also work well. Don't forget this is also how people are going to remember them. A lot of the grandchildren/great-grandchildren will not have known them when they were 'smooth', and will treasure the memory of the silky cheek or spotted hand that used to love them.

Back again, I've some collages on page 3 in my gallery if you'd like to scroll through. These were done with a dear old lady, who's not terribly well, and we wanted to capture some special moments and tenderness.

You might look at BayPhoto.com I have used them to create a wonderful 16x20 collage of my grandson's first camping trip with us. I was able to design it exactly the way I wanted it to look.
