Myself is a graphic designer that always have problem with the images for the design that I doing. So I decide to set-up a photo studio of my own…. The main use of this studio will be for product shoot, portraits & commercial photography. So I located a space in the office for this purpose. (See the attachment file) The size is 15f x 18f with a ceiling height of 13f….. But the problem starts now…. What color should I paint the wall?.... Is all the wall the same color?.... What are the basic equipments for studio? (Currently I have two camera, one Canon 10D and another Canon 300D, two standard lens, one Canon Speedlite 550EX, one tripod and two homemade fluorescent light box)….. I need some idea on how to maximize the space or how to layout the studio…. Should one corner for product shoot and another for portraits???

Okay if anyone can help me it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Yeo

A graphical designer who doesn't apply perspective in an interpretative diagram...?

Anyway, spraypaint your studio walls and floor grey. Darker than medium. Ceiling black.
As a starter set for your studio you will need background paper on rolls, for backgrounds without horizon. In a selection of colors, and a system to hang them on. 3 lightsources (studio strobes) on stands, 2 softboxes, a 4' reflector, a snoot, and 2 barndoor sets.
18 feet as the longest dimension ain't a whole lot to work with. Should be enough for portraits, full figures, product shoot and tabletop work.
Don't set aside specific corners for specific type shoots. Set up your studio per shoot. You'll need the whole space.
