how to fix the wrong white balance setting? I was shooting a football game with my d70s on a cloudy & rainy day so I had my camera wrapped up so I didnt notice that when I went to change my ISO a little high that my white balance got changed from Auto to incandescent. The pictures have a blue or green to them, everything sky to grass & everything in between has I light blue or green shade. I didnt shot in raw. Iwas thinking about getting photoshop elements can this help or do I need some other program?

Since you didn't shoot RAW, I'm assuming you shot JPG's. With Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and a lot of careful tweaking you can maybe improve the WB in JPG's a bit, but you won't get it right, Charles. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

Charles, after two years of shooting digital I finally got brave and switched to raw about 6 weeks ago. So far I've really enjoyed it, but there are indeed both pros and cons. The pros are that your image will have more information for you to work with. You will have more control over white balance and exposure when your raw images. I've found this to be a huge advantage over .jpg. The cons are: I'm sure there are more pros/cons than that, but I'm still a rookie. Anyone with more experience with raw care to chime in?

You can absolutely correct the color cast of a jpeg image in PS. If you do not have the means to do it yourself (a photo program, or the experience), try a good local photo lab. Most will have someone on site who can do jpeg corrections. There are probably people here on BP that would probably be able to do it also. While it can be easier to correct white balance in RAW processing, it is a myth that once a jpeg is shot with an incorrect color cast there is nothing you can do.

Hello Charles, I have to agree with David, you can indeed "color correct" a jpg image. If those don't do the trick, you can selectivly color correct. What software do you use? Pete
