What does everyone think about.... I just wanted to know what everyone's opinion on the site photolaureates.org is. I submitted an image of mine to them and recieved an email saying that I was one of the 50 photographers of the month for september. Just curious. any answers and comments would be greatly appreciated.

"I was one of the 50 photographers of the month for september" 1 of 50 to win? Did they ask you to pay? I'm skeptical about this site because I can't find the contest winners or entries on their site, but it is does seem more complex than some scam sites.

Wait - after researching and all - did you receive THE LETTER asking you to pay to get your winning picture published? SCAM!!! Don't pay. Don't use them again. The same thing happened to me with circle of photographers. BP is great and legit. The entire community (well, most of it at least - there are a couple harmless jokers here) is completely friendly and very helpful. You don't have to pay to get your picture published in a fake book or to win or get prizes (unless you live outside the USA - then you have to pay shipping on some prizes). And best of all - they choose who wins based on how good the picture is - not by who they want to get money from! It's a great way to improve in photography and have fun doing it. Ariel

Just search these forums for that site. You'll find hundreds of posts...it's a scam, don't buy into it.
