i seen a thread where someone said it is possible to take indoor pics without a flash. is this true?or is that using lighting from a window.? how about just the basic flash on cam without having to buy a 430 ex or 580ex. if this is poosible what is the use of going out and spending money on a flash. with or without is the question?

There are a lot of things to consider about not using a flash. available light, lens used. Is it a "fast" lens?
ISO,just to name a few. Also What mood are you trying to create? Can you use a tripod? In my opinion th onboard flash has very limited use because it can cause red eye, harsh shadows and limited range.A flash such aas a 430ex or 580ex allows for so much more flexibility.like adjustable flash output, bounce feature to name a couple.

I would like to ask why you have not posted any images in your gallery. Please share them.

I agree with both Sam and Mike. Your on-camera flash is going to be really limited and limit your ability to do real portraits vs. snapshots, or cover events like weddings. For that, you need a separate flash unit, on a bracket, with a fair amount of output (better to have too much light available than too little). You should also have a way to modify the output, like in a small softbox, say a Lumiquest, but that cuts down on your effective power output by covering the lens of the flash. Bouncing does the same thing and you won't always be able to bounce flash off ceiling.

My own preferences are Vivitar 285HV with a separate power pack like a Quantum Turbo that recycles to full power, even when the pack is nearly depleted in a second or so. Nikon SB 800's are also quite good, as are the Quantum 200 and 400 w.s. output flash heads.

I think if you're going to do this kind of work Estella, in all honesty, you either need a source of funding, like an SBA loan or a bank that will give you a credit line of say $10,000-$15,000 to cover your start-up costs including equipment, insurance, association membership dues and marketing expenses.
Take it light.
Mark
