Scanning Slides into the Computer

Dear Photographers,

When scanning my 35mm slides into the computer it gives me a large range of resolutions, 600, 1200, up to 4800. To make prints to sell, 8x10 and 11x14, what resolution should I use. Would it be prudent to scan them in at different rates like 600, 1200, and 3600 so that they would all be availabe. Also should I save them as JPEP's ?

Thank YOU.

  Eric,

I have only started scanning slides this year. I'm no expert, but I scan at the highest resolution. You never know what size you will want to print the photo in the future. I save them as TIFF files. Apparently JPEG does not hold up well.
