Small advertising

If you are an amateur photographer with limited skills and seeking ways to get your work noticed on the small scale, is a website or an in person portfolio better? Or does it matter?

Word of mouth has worked great for me. I also have done a lot of freebie work to get started and once the photos are shown around the persons workplace you get calls. I am now working at a college, I am in my third week now and have already picked up three new shoots. I The money I spend in advertising has been mainly used for ink and paper supplies and props.

  Hello AR,

Question: Do you just want to get noticed or sell your work?
