photographing in black and white outdoors at night I am interested in shooting pictures outdoors at night. what tecniques I should use such as lenses or filters and should I use a tripod.

Sharon, there is a great book called A Short Course in B&W Photography. In the book there is a scale for shooting in low light situations, street scenes at night 15th of a second at f2 as an example, and obviously you have to use a tripod. Alan B.
