ISO control in Digital SLR

Hi
I have nikon D50 (digital SLR camera), last 2 days I was trying to shoot flowers/insects in Exhibition. I kept the ISO at 200 and was shooting in Maual mode. But I noticed that camera used to indicate AUTO ISO and most of the images got blurred as ISO went upto 1600. Can anybody guide me how to control ISO in this camera?

Thanks in Advance
Vishvajit

The default for the D50 is to set ISO automatically. If you want to set ISO manually in the full auto modes (AUTO and the icons), set Custom Function 9 to "OFF". If you want the ISO manually in the P, S, A, M modes, then also set Custom Function 10 to "OFF".
