Go to the store and buy a bottle of WOW and pour it into your camera.

Not being dumb here either, just a smart---!

Considering the fact that I don't believe my photos have what you are talking about, I don't really feel qualified to give a legitimate answer.

  Hey Tami!
The main thing to taking a 'WOW' picture is to have a great composition. A different angle, an unusual perspective or even just moving in closer all can help to make your photo stand out more.

One of the things I do the most is I always add extra contrast and/or saturation to virtually all of my photos. Whether I am aiming for a dramatic, high key photo or just enhancing the natural color, it's definitely one of the easiest ways to add WOW.
If the photo is a B&W one, adding extra contrast also helps define the subject(s) better, therefore making a more noticeable picture.

Hope that helps! ; )

A WOW photo is one that really hits you in the face.
It needs no caption or explaination.
It draws you in and captivates you.

(...Or maybe WOW is just an acronym for Women Of Wrestling?) ;)

I just saw, on the home page, a class offered that covers this very topic. How to get that Wow you're looking for. I can't remember the exact name of the title ... but it sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

Look under the list of classes and I'm sure you'll find it.

The first step to WOW is originality. If you shoot something that is a dime a dozen, it will be passed by. Go to the contest page, most the entries are basically snapshots because the person either didn't know how, or take the effort to make it theirs.

All great advice. I know it took a long time for someone other than a family member to say WOW! about any of my images
