Well, Estella, welcome to the nuthouse. As you can see, we don't suffer from insanity here. We enjoy every minute of it! These guys aren't picking on you - just joking around. There is so much stuff you can buy for a camera that Bill Gates would go broke buying it all. However, when shooting a wedding remember one thing. You have to carry everything so go light. Yes, you can, and should, get some kind of light diffuser for your flash. Some folks like the Omnibounce and others like the Lightsphere. I use a Lumiquest mini-softbox (when I can't bounce the flash). It really is all a matter of personal taste. Read about all of them and decide for yourself which you want to use. Each has its own benefits and drawbacks. As far as filters, I wouldn't worry about using them too much. There really are no "tricks" to wedding photography that anyone can teach you, at least not me. Study different photographers (and apprentice for one if you can) and see what style you like and then develop your own style.
