Richard, what software are you using? I use Photoshop CS and have my color space set to sRGB and I'm not having any issues with the color being off. Also, if you're having issues with your photos being soft when you upload them you need to resize them to 480 pixels on the short side.

I use Photoshop Elements 3.0 for now. I been using 750-500 for my down size for website.

Some would disagree but the standard color space for the web is sRGB. In PS CS I can change the color setting by going to Edit and Color Settings. If you don't find this works you can always change it back. If it's not there in PSE3 I'd check out Help to see where it's located. I don't have PSE3. When I resized at 500 on the short side my photos were always soft. Since resizing to 480 on the short side I haven't had anymore issues. I've had it explained to me it has something to do with the border that's added to the photos after you upload them. Whether this is true or not I have no idea. I just know that now everything looks the same after uploaded as it does before.

Also keep in mind the differences you can encounter between the way PS displays your file (ie, while you are in PS) and the way the browser window displays your file. When I edit a photo in PSE2, it looks one way... if I save it, then go immediately view it in Win Fax/Pic Viewer, it is definitely different than what I just saw---and that appearance is always what I get when I view the file in Internet Explorer after an upload. (So I make a habit of checking my freshly-edited file in Win Fax/Pic, before I decide if my edits are in fact, truly done.)

Chris, I've had that problem in times past too. Everything is matching now, but I know how frustrating it is when it doesn't match. I think that is because of your color space settings. Try changing them around and see what you get.

I have never had these problems, but I also never use jpeg format and I never resize before uploading my tifs...BP seems to handle the resizing automatically with no hassles: this doesn't hold true for images uploaded to Q&A forums or to comments...they sometimes won't load because of their size, even when they upload fine to the gallery. Anyway, sRGB, tif format, no resizing and everything seems to work fine.
