Photography Question

Devon McCarroll

Commercial Model Release

I'm going to be shooting some photos of my dentist's new office for her. Her staff will be posing as "patients". I will be selling the CD of images to her to use as she pleases. Do I need to keep the model releases, or does she, since she'll own the photos and be using them in her advertising?
Thanks everyone!
Devon

Devon, I would personally keep a copy for myself and give one to her. that way your both covered , if someone gets upset at her using the photo or remembers you as the photographer for any reason, you both will have a copy :)

So, is this dentist office photo shoot in the afternoon like Tooth hurty?? LOL !!!! (Sorry Dev, some things in life are too compelling)

Brenda's advice is prudent because the rule is that whoever is going to publish the photos, whether in print or electronically, or whoever is going to display them in public places like galleries or coffee joints, requires the release and it should be in their name. Remember, if you shooting kids less than 18 years of age, their parents need to sign on their behalf.

Take it light.
Mark
