quantaray lens fit on discontinued minolta SLR


Will a Quantaray 28-80 mm F3.5 -5.6 AF Sequence "for Minolta AF 25-166 4710" fit/work on my now "discontinued" Minolta Maxxum 3 (replacing my Minolta AF Zoom 35-70 0.5m/1.6 ft. 49mm (1993) ? Thx !

  welcome susan,
if it has a maxxum mount,yes.maxxums have the a type bayonet.the brand of lens doesn't matter,it's the mount.
if it does say for minolta AF-seems it should.
maybethere's more knowledge here.

  thanks Sam - I'm not exactly there (picture taking) yet tho it does appear to fit the mount - I need to find my camera guide from way back when - it is mounted but w/film in - won't shoot/move . . . . I think I have messed up the auto function somehow . . . getting the red arrow and nothing else in view so have to get that off. Hard to believe I've had some kind of AF Minolta for 15 years ! SM

  yeah hard to believe..
ok,make sure when you put the film in it advanced.
isn't there a magazine by the name of SM?
put your other lens back on and see if alls ok.
might have been S&M.
be really hard to mess up the auto function..
