Karen,

You will need an audio/video-in interface on your computer.

1. I was thinking of a PCI interface board called WinTV. This equipment lets you watch TV on your computer, but also, you can hook up an audio/video input from your VCRs and camcorders.
2. Also, looking their web site, they have a USB interface box you can use to do the same. If you are not a computer savvy, this will be much easier to use for easy installation, etc.

Both come with the software to watch, edit, and record (or burn CD/DVDs) video shows and clips.

I have used a WinTV PCI board before, but USB interface is something new and I have not used one before. But it seems simple enough to use.

Take a look at http://www.hauppauge.com/ for more info.
