Renumbering in Photoshop

How do you renumber all of the images in a folder in photoshop? Right now they are all different numbers and letters and I'd like them to be more in order.

Thanks!

A long file by file way is right click the file and use "rename".
You have a digital camera that can number files continuously?

There is a batch action under Automate I believe (it's been a while). You can rename all the files in a folder or add a prefix or suffix to them, etc. so you could take all your pics and add "thmb_" to the front for thumbnails or take all of the and add "_001", "_002", "_003", etc. to them for a numbering system like you want. Look around in the batch and automate ares, it's in there somewhere.

K, the batch action under automate is what I was looking for. I'm still trying to figure out to complete it though.

I found out how to do this incase you ever need to. There is a free download call Irfanview. It will renumber or rename all of your images in a folder :)
