Kerby, for expression, #5; for position, a crop somewhere between #1 and #2 (a tad cramped on the right).

Kerby, I like #4 for expression and pose, but you can see her shadow on the bg, and the "closest" plants look a little weird.

I would have to say number 4 but dont cut the feet off and maybe not have her shoulders square with the camera

she has no feet, they are buried under the dress

High power flash (too much shine)
Looks posed (she is looking right at the camera)
Wide angle might work better

Pose wise I like #4 the best. It's the only one with windows. The other poses don't look good. I'm not sure about the crop though. I like #1 the best but wish there was some foot room. All have great color in the background but there is green in her dress with it being reflective and all. Your forground exposure isn't bad. I wish for 1/3 to 1/2 stop brighter. Also try getting the flash off the camera and get it off to the side. Maybe about 5 feet to your left. Less DOF and you would have some absolutely amazing photos!!! Nice work overall!

By telling her if she shot like you she'd be better?

Where do you come off that I'm conceited. You're the one who comes off all the time saying "you NEED this and you NEED that to be big" but you don't. All I was doing is pointing out a couple of small technical errors that anybody else would've pointed out. I'm glad she doesn't shoot like me, have you seen my gallery? That's the last thing I would ever do is tell someone to shoot like me

i like 7 alot. we are all being a little tooooo picky about your pictures I think. most non photographers would look at any one of these images and wish they had taken them..the only thing I dont like about number 7 us the placement of her hands but in my experience the hands are the toughest thing to get right. good job

Overall I would have to cast my vote for photo #5.
Reason being, first of all, even though your subject is right smack dead center of the frame, it's a cute pose and a natual looking smile, as opposed to most that look forced for the camera.
But mostly, I like this shot because of all of them, this shows the least evidence of the flash. In the other four, the subject is just a little too light compared to the background to be natural lighting. But mostly, the hedge/plants in the foreground really show off the bright light from the flash. So number five would be my pick.

Try flipping number two horizontally. I'd like to see what it would look like flipped.

I want to thank everyone for your responses.

I photographed this young lady for her portfolio while I was in Chicago. She was so fun to work with and a very nice young lady.

It is so nice to beable to put up images on the boards and get wonderful feedback. There were so many of them I liked in this sunset background and it helps when people tell you what they like, to get different prespective on the image.

Carolyn,

I never had flipped one horizontally and I tried it and it came up with a PSD instead of a JPG behind it.

When I click on the picture I can see it and it looks real nice but I have to do a double click on it to see it.

It does not show up in my pictures.

Is there a trick to doing this so it a JPG image. I have just never done this before.

Kerby
