Seriously Considering Pre Ordering Sony Alpha

I'm seriously considering pre ordering the Sony Alpha DSLR camera. I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer before jumping in to purchase one.

Am I correct in thinking that the lenses for my Minolta Maxxum HTSI Plus are compatable with the new Sony?

I have a 2X Teleconverter
a 28-80mm, and a 100-300mm for my Maxxum.

Would these lenses be compatable with any other DSLR's on the market?

If so I would want to compare models.

I'm also wondering what the delay rate for the shutter is like nowadays on their cameras, the one I use now I had to carefully choose between Sony cameras to find one with a delay rate I could live with, but that was about 4 or 5 years ago, and I was got the camera at half price, it's the DSC-S85.

I'm thinking if the lenses are compatable it may worth it for me to put the extra money into getting the Sony, if I don't have to invest in new lenses right away.

I would be spending even more than what the Sony costs, on another camera if I had to buy all new lenses for one.

Per the Sony website, "The Sony A100 is built on the foundation of 16 million Maxxum A-mount lenses dating back to 1985." Your lenses and TC should work. The only other alternative for continuing to use your Maxxum lenses on a DSLR is the Konica-Minolta 5D or 7D. These are no longer made, but are available and supported by Sony.

  Thanks Jon!

I called the number on the website and they verified my lenses should work. So I pre-ordered one. They don't apply the charges until it ships.

The end of July wont come soon enough for me lol!
