Shooting snow

Ive just read that some cameras automatically overexpose photos of snow to make them look white, does the Canon 350D do that? For the manual settings aswell?

Thanks!
Laura

What luck, I just was playing with snow this morning. No, cameras don't know snow from shinola.

Well, I see the story and camera settings didn't come with the photo...

Laura, perhaps the cameras you've read about, have a Mode setting just for snow or sand? (ie, like a Night Mode, etc.) 'fraid I don't know about the Rebel XT, but you could easily look up that camera's modes on dpreview.com
