I received this email today and curious to know if anyone else has received it?Hello, I've found Your photos at: www.betterphoto.com I want to ask if I can use them in my dimplom-work, subject: Characteristic of navigatial lights. I'm studying at Maritime University in Poland. I will add a note that You're author of the phots and adress of Your webpage and webpage from where the pictures were taken. Tamera, this doesn't sound like a mass scam or anything. Your photos are very good, after all. I don't know what Michael would want with your shots. If he just wants to post one of your images for something for school, I don't see how it could be bad. Especially since he would be capable of copying your pictures without your permission. It seems to me like it's ok and that it would only give you publicity. On the other hand, maybe he just wants your email address so he can scam you. If you really care about it, I suggest making a new hotmail, safe-mail, yahoo, or other free e-mail account to use when you reply. I'd ask him what he wants to use them for, which ones, and if he'd be willing to pay to use them (just a hope!). If he responds (and it seems that he isn't just after to spam people) and all seems okay, I'd just give him permission for specific uses, and that he has to note that you have complete rights to the photo and that no one else can use them. Best idea is to wait and see what other people here on BP have to say.
