A day at the track
For race fans not fortunate enough to live close to the Indianapolis 500 track, I've posted some snaps in my free gallery from Wednesday May 18th. It rained for a few hrs, so nothing happened..but that doesn't mean we can't get a few shots;right? The rain finally abated, and the racing was on. This was a practice day only, but with last weekends time trials cancelled due to rain, the drivers were ready to get out there and turn some very hot laps!Danica Patrick came out after her young fans began chanting her name..I was lucky enough..AND tall enough to poke my camera above the masses and get the shot. LOL She is the youngest female driver at Indy and also one of the fastest..Rookie of the year 2005..Go Dana! Trying to shoot a car at speed (200+ MPH) is a real challenge..panning at 1/1000 sec is still not easy to freeze the action...You can get whiplash just trying to pan! LOL Hope you enjoy "a day at the track." Pete
