file resizing

I know this is probably an ametuerish question but, I joined a stock photo site and they want pics to be less than 5mg. How the heck do I change the file size without cropping? In PSE 2.0 when I go to image resize it only gives you the options of pixel dimensions or inches?

  5 milligrams?

Or is it 5mega bytes, 500 kilo bytes, or 5 mega pixels? You can change file size with the quality scale when you save a jpeg. Or with resizing the image smaller by resizing by changing the pixel dimensions. Change a 2400x3600 to 500x750.
(those are numbers for example, not what a picture may actually be.)

Greg, thanks for answering. Yes it says MG. Maybe I should have capitolised. They say they would prefer 2400 to 4000 pixels but 5MG max. I thought that would lose quality by making it smaller. By the way, I like your comments and avatars.

May be a typo. Just send an email asking what they mean by MG's. The only G I've heard being used in the digital world is for giga.
Smaller size means where and how they are used. Like small files because they won't be used in large size print, or only web use.
