Crating borders in Photoshop 6?

I need to produce various borders in Photoshop 6 to surround photos on greeting cards. I am looking for feathered edges, torn edges, vignette edges etc. Does anyone have a simple process or do you recommend purchasing plugins????

I think most or all of the selection tools in PS6 have a feather option. How much you need depends on your resolution. You can select by rectangle, circle, oval and chose a feather option of, let's say, 10. A really high feather will give you a vignette. Just go to Select/Invert, and delete the part outside your image. I'm less clear on the torn edges, but I don't believe you'd have to buy a plug-in. One or more of the inexpensive home publishing softwares, like PrintShop, may give you a torn edges option. Whatever you do, save a copy of your original, in case you take it too far.
