Photography Question

Jagadeesh Andrew Owens

Am I a Loser???

Hope the question caught your attention. I need advice... did I enter the shot of the leaves in the correct contest category (landscapes and nature) or should I have entered it in details and macro? I don't consider it to be macro because it's so big, but it's the only other one that remotely fit. I don't want to preemptively lose by placing in the wrong category, because if I do say so myself (and I DO, lol), I think it is worthy of at least Finalist stature. Please tell me what you think....

I meant tell me what you think regarding the category placement, not if you thought it was finalist worthy!! I'm not fishing for compliments! (Well, maybe a few, but only now, not previously...LOL)

I think it will fit either place. They aren't real picky about categories, within reason. If it was mine I'd have put it in Macro, I think, but it's also just fine where it is.

A nature scenic is a recognizable landscape feature depicted artistically.
Details and Macro deals primarily with close-ups of subjects usually viewed from a distance.

For this photo,...I'm thinking Elements of Design.

It's the shapes and patterns of the leaves that represent the theme of the photograph.

I agree with Bob, Elements of Design would have been a good choice. I don't know if you know, but if you decide to change the category, you can just reenter it, and pick the correct category and it will change it. It also doesn't count as your one a day entry.

Brendan - I've tried to change the category by reentering it and it won't let me! Can you give me more detail as to how to do this?

Andrew you may have reentered and not know it because it will go back to the page it was in the beginning. Click on your category and look though the pages. I think you will find your photo close to the end. :o)

I give up, I can't find it anywhere. So I'm just going to delete it from my photos, reload it, and enter it into elements of design tomorrow. Thanks for your help, guys.
