Clone tool in photoshop elements I use adobe photoshop elements, and have been using the clone stamp tool. Now everytime I click my sample area then move to my work area it is displayed as crosshairs, and not the defined circle I was using. Any idea what would be causing this?

Try clicking the Caps Lock key, Julie -- it's a toggle in PS, and my be the same in Elements.

I tried that, but it didn't work either. It just changed it from the cross hair to the tool icon. Thanks though for responding. I really appreciate it. Julie

Use the zoom tool to increase the size of the field you're working in. Check out whether your crosshair becomes a square of circle. Also change your brush size.

I have PSE3 and was having the same problem, all I had to do was take the cap locks off. :o)

I have PS7 and when this happened to me, it was also a caps lock problem.

I have PS Elements 4.0 and you just go to preferences then brushes, and change the setting there.

Also, if you have the size of the tool too large and the photo blown up it will only show crosshairs. Try with the pic only 100% and see if the circle is there.

One can also increase the pixel size of the clone tool. Ray
